You are taking part in an exciting new medium for communication: the Internet and the World Wide Web. Observing is one thing, but if you want to tell the online community about your goods and services, or you just have something to say, you need a Website of your own.
A Web presence is a great way to compliment your existing marketing plan. You can use your site to inform people about your business's past, present and future. Do you offer something out of the ordinary? Use your Website to educate. The World Wide Web is two-way, interactive, and quick communication. Use it to learn more about your customers or clients - their feedback will help you to improve communication with them. Creative uses of the Web also can improve communication within your organization.
The growing appeal of the Internet is readily apparent. It is almost impossible to read a newspaper or magazine, listen to the radio, or watch TV without some mention of the Internet and its various applications. The online community is a growing portion of every community. It is the exchange of ideas and information that give it mass appeal. Not long ago, many discussions of computer communication would bring to mind scientists, scholars, and "nerds." No longer is this the case because a more diverse group of people now have access to both computers and the Internet.
You can read about the Internet's growing use at CommerceNet and Nielsen Media. By its nature, communication on the Internet is flowing all of the time. While some of us have stayed up a little too late "net surfing," the sleeplessness of the Internet is due to its global nature. When one part of the world is sleeping, another is active. In the meantime, your message on the Web is available to all, no matter what time they choose to look. What other media can do this?
Global, interactive, dynamic, easily-updated, and constantly available....and, when compared to other media, in terms of cost and possible reach and frequency, it is a bargain. The World Wide Web is the ultimate in targeted marketing. A potential customer finds out about your website from your business card, a sign in your shop, word-of-mouth, or via any other advertising that you are already paying for.
Unlike other media, the World Wide Web only reaches the people who want to learn about you. You will not waste resources distracting and invading the attention of those who are not interested in what you have to offer. The difference is, instead of being bombarded by it,
the potential client is seeking out your message at his or her convenience, at home, the office, the library, or even a "cyber-cafe," which is a type of establishment where the public can "surf the 'net" while sipping espresso. Folks who are seeking information about a certain topic
on the Internet use "search engines" which are tools run by several organizations that look through all of the websites that they have on record and find websites containing the key terms or concepts the user is
interested in. The people that will see your message on the World Wide Web are on top of what is happening now and what may happen in the near future, and have the ability and desire to act upon this knowledge. Only if you are on the Web, you will reach this growing audience the way they prefer: when, where and how its convenient for them.
The purpose of Ennis Web Design is to provide a way for businesses and other organizations to develop a Web presence. The goal is to bring all the advantages of being on the World Wide Web
to my clients. Staying within budget is a priority for everybody, and together, we can come up with a successful plan for your project.
